We met Machel Paulhus when we visited Uriarte Talavera, a workshop that has been producing Talavera ceramic pieces since 1824. We got there, because this is the place where David Pompa makes his Oceano lamp. When you see a special piece like this one, you just have to see where it comes from, at least if you’re as curious as we are!
Paulhus turned out to be a passionate character, so it was wonderful to learn from him the techniques employed to check if a Talavera piece is ready to go the oven. We quickly connected because we’re also obsessed with quality check, and meeting other geeks, just makes us -geeks- feel a little better.
