AMAZONIAN BOWLS II SET
$157.00| 2 pieces |
Handmade from glass and ceramic, this set of bowls is as suitable for decoration as it is for serving friends and family.
The distinctive and beautiful glaze pattern is inspired by an aerial view of the Southern Venezuelan wetlands of the Canaima National Park – a UNESCO world heritage site – which have become increasingly threatened by pollution from mineral extraction industries. As much political statements as aesthetic pieces, these bowls are perfect for any home.
The capsule collection Wanderlust takes inspiration from the diverse flavors, sensations and experiences lived by Humboldt and Bonpland during their famous 1799 exploration of Latin America.
The lakes and rivers of Southern Venezuela, whose colors and shades have tragically shifted over the years due to pollution and mineral exploitation, are what inspired the talented ceramicist Cecilia in making this piece.
The natural beauty of these unique landscapes – and the pressing need to save them from the excesses of rampant exploitation – are translated into gorgeous homeware which is both visually stunning and metaphorically poignant.
These bowls are beautiful in form and fabulous in functionality. Made from a mixture of ceramic and glass, they boast a gorgeous glazed finish which is reminiscent of an aerial view of a wetland world – a fantastic yet fragile landscape which is fast disappearing.
