Amazonian Fiber Tray X
$79.00|Made in Venezuela
This tray with geometrical design was handwoven by the men of the Ye'kwana people (Venezuelan Amazon) in tirite fiber. Basketry has always been considered a functional art, and this is true for all cultures. Although it was never strictly decorative, it is considered and exhibited as such nowadays. Its origin is eminently utilitarian because the processing, transportation, and consumption of foodstuffs was the determinant factor for the development of this tradition.
