BOCONO POTTERY SET
From the Briceño family of Bocono, in the Venezuelan Andes, these alluring ceramics are produced using a traditional technique which involves layering ‘strands’ of clay, smoothing with a spoon, immersive firing and stone polishing. Their unique look is due to the specific combination of clays used, collected from selected locations around the state of Trujillo in Venezuela.
The Briceño family is an artisanal household in the town of Bocono, nestled amongst the Venezuelan Andes. They are renowned for their distinctive ceramic tableware, crafted with a uniquely dark mix of clays from the state of Trujillo in Venezuela. Following traditional techniques, these ceramics are worked on a spinning potter’s wheel before being fired in an innovative wood-burning kiln designed by Lorenzo Briceño, subjecting the pieces to the open flames. Polishing is achieved on a stone, giving the pieces a beautiful and durable sheen. Providing the perfect contrast for colorful foods, Briceño tableware will add a tasteful touch of Venezuelan design to any home.
