Küla is a series of three bowls designed for a seafood trilogy, this design rises from the inspiration of the organic movement that fish generate when swimming together with an abstraction made of the fin flow of three fish (Reineta, Corvina and Salmon) thus generating a slight differentiation between each bowl.
At the same time, this project seeks to value artisan work and national raw materials through a production with native Chilean wood and the work of wood carving made by Mr. Víctor Ruiz, a craftsman from Villarrica, recognized in 2013 with the Seal of Excellence to the handicraft in Chile.
This project was part of the exhibition of the Design School of Universidad del Desarrollo in the Salon Satellite of Milán.
This project is based under the theme of “Celebrating Nature” The proposal is linked with food as a manifestation of celebration by means of their utensils developed with Chilean natural resources such as wood and metal. In this way, the project provides a reflective and experimental process on the basis of the materials that Chilean people get from mining and forestry productive sectors, proposing new alternatives of use, by means of designs that link the properties of natural wood and metals.
