Set of bowls inspired by the texture and shape of the various molluscs and shells of the Chilean coast.
The object reflects the passage of time in the shell, showing the textures that invite to touch and admire. They are reproduced in raulí wood, native material of the south of our country, and small copper applications, characteristic Chilean resource with excellent antibacterial properties.
The constructive method of this product is a mixture of artisan and industrial ways. On one hand the CNC machine is used, and on the other hand the sanding, varnishing and copper coating is used. These pieces were part of the exhibition of the School of Design of the Universidad del Desarrollo at the Salon Satellite of Milan 2017.
This project is based under the theme of “Celebrating Nature” The proposal is linked with food as a manifestation of celebration by means of their utensils developed with Chilean natural resources such as wood and metal. In this way, the project provides a reflective and experimental process on the basis of the materials that Chilean people get from mining and forestry productive sectors, proposing new alternatives of use, by means of designs that link the properties of natural wood and metals.
