The pivotal drying process takes two distinct paths. They sun-dry some of their straw for three days, imbuing it with a distinctive grayish hue. In contrast, they carefully dry the rest in the shade, resulting in a beautiful greenish tint.
Originally, their products crafted from Carnaúba palm straw included a wide array of personal accessories and household objects, such as hats, mats, brooms, and baskets. As the tourism sector expanded, they evolved the basket set and similar creations into even more sophisticated artisan made, perfect for modern days.
Talented women lead the artful weaving process, working from the comfort of their homes. This allows them to care for their families and increase their income. They have a network of 32 dedicated women.
