Divide et Impera with handmade goods

Divide and conquer, from Latin dīvide et īmpera, in politics and sociology means gaining power by breaking up larger concentrations of power into pieces that individually have less power than the one implementing the strategy.

In Maison Numen’s rules of home decor, there’s a slight difference, it means taking advantage of a vast collection of handmade goods of serveware, glassware, and tableware, and mixing and matching regardless of origin, material or color combinations, to create striking dining tables.

We decided to apply this common principle in our Al Fresco Dining collection by clashing handmade goods from our Italian makers, plates by Ceramiche Bucci are playfully arranged in contrasting colors with wooden cutlery from skilled Mexican artisans, multicolor glass beakers and striped linen napkins. This played quite well for a fresh breakfast table, just add colorful summer fruits, tropical flowers, and you’re all set!
