Candelabrum story by Gerardo Zaldivar from Studio Cardinal

By Maison Numen

Candelabrum was born to give candlelight another chance, it seeks to recover dark areas of intimacy, playing with lights and shadows once again.

Candelabrum’s story is one of dialogue and collaboration between designer and artisan; materials and forms.

Candelabrum was born to give candlelight another chance; it seeks to recover dark corners, little areas of intimacy, playing with lights and shadows once again.

Gerardo Zaldivar, co-founder, and designer of Studio Cardinal was kind enough to tell us all about it.

The delicacy of this piece is intriguing, endemic materials such as brass and Tzalam wood (also known as Caribbean Walnut) are used in its making, and they are a reminder of Mexican roots while being part of a modern-looking object.
