Libia Moreno and Paulina Parlange‘s studio, home of Colorindio house accessories, is a small, warm space in Parlange’s home, right in the heart of Mexico City. The building was designed by Juan O’Gorman; the seminal Mexican architect responsible for the house in Coyoacán Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera made their home; and boy, does this place have character.
O’Gorman is somehow part of Colorindio’s story now. He committed suicide in this very house, and the founders of Colorindio will leave him a small glass of mezcal every night so he still feels at home. Now that’s a good way to go, right?
Moreno and Parlange have truly made this space their own; though, with blankets, pillows, hammocks, and other house accessories, turning the architectural masterpiece into an intimate, cozy sanctuary.
Let us give you a tour around the unique work that is the heart of Colorindio – snuggle into a soft cushion, cradle a cup of hot tea, and enjoy browsing our photo essay.
