This magnificent menhir glass vase was mouth-blown by the skilled Italian artisans at IVV. Each piece begins life as a 5kg ball of molten glass, taken from the Tuscan oven at a scorching 1,400˚C. A master glassmaker then carefully shapes the ball using strength, sensitivity, and years of experience. The process is long and tiring and creates unique results every time. Once it is done, the ball will have doubled in size and developed into the gorgeous and distinctive menhir vase, ready to transform your home.
This transparent vase was first produced in 1983 and is now back in production, with IVV releasing a limited run of 150 pieces per color. Get a unique piece of design history, and fill your home with timeless style, with this wonderful piece.

The Menhir Glass Vase represents years of tradition and experience developed by IVV‘s craftsmen.
IVV was founded in 1952 by a group of master glassworkers in San Giovanni Valdarno, a scenic Tuscan town. Their name is an acronym for Industria Vertraria Valdarnese, which pays homage to their cherished craft and beloved home. Due to their constant development and refinement, IVV has a well-earned reputation as one of Europe’s leaders in blown glass. IVV combine their collective expertise with innovative designs and extensive research into materials and technologies to produce their pieces.
Hand blown glass production, like this glass vase is an intimately person process, and the outcomes are wholly reliant on the skills of the artisan. The makers at IVV draw not only on their personal experience, but that of their teachers and artisanal ancestors. In doing so, they trace back a long line of creative succession through the history of Tuscan craftsmanship. This allows them to draw upon a vast wealth of expertise in their work – something evident in the dazzling results.
Quality glass differs from ordinary glass at the point of material selection, with the distinction made greater at every step of production. IVV takes two (2) to three (3) weeks to prepare the Menhir Glass Vase. Once the designer has completed product development, you will receive an email confirming that your purchase is on the way. This email includes a tracking number that allows you to verify the status of your order.
